Deputy Editor, LSJ News (Oct 2014 - May 2016)

I infrequently stood in the bright lights of the studio for LSJ, but I was more often found:

  • behind the camera,
  • interviewing local officials and councillors,
  • making graphics in Adobe After Effects,
  • editing in Adobe Premiere Pro,
  • assisting with live links and streaming to YouTube,
  • writing and editing scripts in Rundown Creator,
  • or vision mixing using Tricaster.

Deputy Editor, The Linc (Jun 2015 - May 2016)

I've contributed more than 100 articles to student newspaper The Linc since coming to university, rising up the ranks to become Deputy News Editor in my second year and now Deputy Editor in my final year. As well as writing news and reviews for both print and online media, I've also been taking photos in a journalistic capacity, working with (and sometimes very much against) WordPress, proofreading and sub-editing, and creating infographics, quizzes, surveys, polls and liveblogs.

Presenter / Producer, Siren FM (Nov 2014 - present)

I came to Siren FM, a local Lincoln community radio station, on behalf of the University of Lincoln Comedy Society, hoping to launch a comedy radio show we'd devised. It became 'Sorry for the Inconvenience', a fortnightly show mixing sketch comedy and news from the comedy world, and I was elected to produce (and, more often than not, be the host) of the show using Myriad, Adobe Audition, and other tools. The first two years bounced from strength to strength - interviewing top comedians including Milton Jones, James Acaster, Daniel Sloss, Ray Peacock, Sean Kelly, and Hal Cruttenden - and now that I'm leaving university, the show's been deemed enough of a success for it to continue under a new team next year.
